Weddings at Cross of Grace

AlterWhen planning your wedding, please contact Pastor Mark Havel or Linda Sevier, Cross of Grace's Administrative Assistant, as soon as possible so the date for the wedding can be reserved on the church's calendar. Four months prior notice is usually needed. Outside clergy are welcome to preside with the approval of Cross of Grace's pastoral staff. Below are some common concerns for curious couples. A more detailed list of policies, procedures and other expectations will be given to couples who plan to celebrate their wedding at Cross of Grace.

Fees

Use of the facilities is free to all Cross of Grace Partners in Mission. Non-partners will pay a facilities fee of $500 with $150 paid as a deposit to reserve the wedding space. That deposit will be applied to the overall wedding fee with the balance due prior to the time of rehearsal.

In addition to the $500 facilities fee, other costs of wedding services are as follows:Alter

Pastoral Fee (for Non-partners)$250
Organist fee$175
Wedding Coordinator Fee$150
Audio/Visual Technician Fee$100
Actual Cost of BulletinsCost from Publisher

All fees are to be paid prior to rehearsal time.

Music

Cross of Grace has musicians who typically play at all weddings. The presiding pastor must approve anyone other than the church's musicians to play and will also play a role in choosing music for the ceremony, as he/she deems appropriate.

Reception

Partners in Mission are welcome to use the church building and grounds for receptions at no charge. Non-partners will be charged a fee of $1,000 to host a reception in the church building and/or $500 for use of church property and grounds (i.e. on the occasion that a tent or other temporary shelter is used).

Bulletins

Wedding bulletins can be prepared for the wedding, if desired. A wide variety of styles is available. The pastor will be happy to show them at a counseling session.

Counseling

Pastor Mark Havel will meet with the couple at least twice for counseling in addition to the rehearsal and ceremony itself. The purpose of the counseling sessions will be to help prepare the couple for marriage, to encourage a relationship between the pastor and the couple, and to make preparations for the occasion.

Communion

Holy Communion is encouraged at the celebration of any wedding. Couples are asked to make their wishes known to the presiding pastor.

Multimedia

Cross of Grace has projection capabilities in the sanctuary of the church. If couples wish to provide a PowerPoint presentation of pictures to be projected prior to or following the ceremony, they must burn a complete presentation on a CD and deliver it to the church at least one week before the wedding.
