Every year congregations throughout the ELCA denomination head into their respective communities to lend a hand. This year Cross of Grace has come up with a couple of options for those who want to participate. We'll appreciate whatever patience and flexibility you have to offer on Saturday as we navigate whatever work we are able to do!
Option 1: The Talitha Koum Women's Recovery House at 525 East Main Street, Greenfield. (Come anytime between 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. for as much time as you are able.)
There is some yard work to be done, picking up trash and raking as they prepare the lot for cement and a parking lot, I believe. (Bring a rake if you have one, for this work). There are additional jobs inside the home. A foreman will be on site to direct us and to provide most of the supplies.
Option 2: Hope House at 35 East Pierson Street, Greenfield.(From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., for those looking for some lighter, lower-skill-level work!)
They have had a crazy week of donations and could use help sorting and organizing and doing some light cleaning and maintenance. Notice we only have 2 hours there, and I suggested we could have about 10-15 people there. So, if this sounds like your cup of tea, please let me know so I have a sense that we are prepared to help them accordingly.
